AJCU-EAO Business Meeting

                                                            Minutes of the Meeting

A. Deliberation on the next meeting of AJCU-EAO

A.1. The group decided to go on with the next AJCU-EAO meeting  which will be held in Sogang University, Seoul, Korea on 22-23 August 2006.

A.1.a. Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ will coordinate with Fr. Luke Jong - Hyeok Sim, SJ, as the point person in Korea.

A.2. As suggested by Fr. Benedictus Triatmoko, SJ  the respective heads of two other higher education schools in Indonesia should be invited to the August meeting ( ATMI in Jakarta, Pika in Semarang)

A.3. There was a show of hands of those who would wish to go to Beijing, China prior to the meeting. Due to the cost involved, most of the participants opted to go directly to the AJCU-EAO meeting and proceed to  the ASEACCU Meeting in Daegu, Korea on 24-26 August 2006.

B.  Proposed Agenda for the next meeting

B. 1. Presentation on the International Programs of Ateneo de Manila University as opportunities for linkages/partnership (c/o Dr. Antonette Palma-Angeles, Academic Vice President)

B.2.  Leadership Training for Young Jesuits

B.3.  World Meeting of Jesuit University Presidents Prior to the General Congregation

Presentation on East Asian Assistancy

Input from Fr. Thomas E.  Roach, SJ, Secretary of Education of the Society of Jesus:  Fr. Dan Ross, SJ will check if he would be available.

Fr. Vincent Braganza, SJ, Secretary for the Tertiary Education for South Asia, is expected to attend the next meeting of AJCU-EAO, and may be asked to be a resource speaker
