Service Learning Program Call for Participants Still Open!
As August draws nearer, participants from the various Jesuit Schools in the East Asia and Oceania Region are preparing for the much awaited Service Learning Program (SLP). From the success of last year's first ever SLP which was held at Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan), this year's exciting event will be graciously hosted by the Sanata Dharma University (SDU) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Based on the latest survey from the SDU SLP Program Committee, as of the moment, there are currently 23 participants (and counting!). Those who have recently confirmed to the committee are:
Ateneo De Naga, Philippines - 3 students
Sophia University, Japan - 9 students, 1 faculty member
Sogang University, Korea - 4 students, 1 faculty member
Xavier University, Philippines - 4 students, 1 faculty member
The Service Learning Program aims to expose the participants to various international key environmental and social issues. It's also a great learning alternative for students who want to discover more through the interaction and dialogue of different cultures, providing a unique Ignatian Formation among participating students and faculty.
The invitation to become a part of this special event is still very much open this May! For more information, you can e-mail Ms. Christina Anandari (ajcu.sdu@gmail.com) from the SDU SLP program committee.
